In a way, these nanndalas reflect life and appear when I am still, listening. They are a colorful response to what happens around and within me. Inner echos materialising, reflections on the calm surface of a mountain lake.
Improvised, spontaneoulsy drawn freehand on paper – nothing sketched or measured.
Like singing in the morning to celebrate it’s arrival.
What is translated into form and colour changes as much as the weather. Sometimes I create lots during a short time, sometimes years go by and nothing appears. I respond when an expression wants to take form. Meandering art. Like a river.
A heart-felt thank you to my teachers: Cold, Water, Light, Sound, Flow, Flowers. LIFE.

If nanndalas are reflectons of my inner life, these drawings give a glimpse of the longings of friends and family – both close and far away.
I asked what they wished to invite into their lives. The responses, expressed in words, touched me deeply. I carried each longing in my heart. After a while, a longing took form, an image appeared within me.
It is a gift to take part of friends’ longings. It also is a reminder that longings are universal, no matter where you were born, which gender, class, race, age, religion you belong to…once we look beyond superficial facts of humans, we find a beautiful source that we all share.
I wish we could see beyond the surface more easily.
We all long and we all be-long on this beautiful planet we call home. Here are a few glimpses of longing and belonging.
What do you wish to invite into your life?
